Regardless, I would ask for a refund or the equivalent in points for a free night. You did your part, booked and PAID in advance and was not given what you paid for. A nonsmoker would be up in arms in they were given a smoking room (usually I dont care but once the smell was so bad I had to complain) so it seems to me the converse should be true. I would take it up with guest relations if the hotel does not work with you.
