It's unfortunate but it took a lot of persistence for me. Eventually they followed through. Interestingly, the full $100 credit was automatic so eventually my comments reached someone empowered.
I'd also suggest asking for a name of a rep and a timeline for a call back with a status update. Then, whenever you don't get a call back, call them back. I think this made the difference. The rep owned the problem and eventually got it resolved.
