Jetblue let us check in one bag for free. I looked up the baggage policy for US Airway and found it should also allow us to check in bags for free.

United told us they share the same system. In 7 days after he qualified, US Airway should know his new status. They will also send us a card in 2 weeks. Will the system know when we check in bags online? Or we have to go to the airport counter. Do we have to have the Premier card with us? We should have it by the time we leave, but you never know until we have the card in hand.
