Thanks for your input! Indeed, mileage upgrades rarely are a great deal. In this case I´m looking into booking a RTW (should book into H) and already have upgrade instruments for most legs, so using miles for the remaining 1-2 flights may be worthwhile.

Could something confirm whether upgrade availability is identical with award availability?
