For me, Club Floor buffets, even when they serve hot items, like at Ritz-Carlton Doha, do not serve as a substitute for a proper meal, apart from breakfast. I know, however, that many guests with Club Floor access skip real meals and, instead, 'snack' on the various daily food presentations, but I suspect they are not meant as substitutes!
I remember when R-C Sharm El Sheikh first opened. They converted a couple of ground floor rooms into a 'Club', but found that nobody was eating in the restaurants. Everyone was using this as a meal substitute.
The better club floors, such as the one at FS HK tends to be used by guests for breakfast, canapés and tea, but not as a meal substitute.
