I think we're all missing the second point the OP was trying to make and that is regarding the reply from Mr. Robinson who explicitely said "the benefits of a diamond membership only entitles you to the best available room up to the regular club room" and that is the first time I hear this. Then how about other hotels that have deluxe or view club rooms?

There have been threads here in the past that concluded that if one calls the US Diamond line, these agents will then call the hotel to ensure that the guest does indeed receive the best room available. However, this is the first time I hear of an official resposne saying that upgrades are applicable ONLY up to a club room. If this is true then it's a big step back for Hyatt.
