Legally, there should be no distinction between pax paying for ticket or using an award. I was just wondering where you got your evidence that an airline is less proactive with award.
My own experience with Cathay (and that of the CX forum) is that they make no difference between pax, whether they are full fare, discount fare or awards. I was wondering whether AF has a different policy.
