I would imagine the ones the general employees get are different from the ones Smisek & other top level executives get. AFAIK, the ones general employees get are on space available basis, meaning if the employees don't use them they will go to waste, and I don't have a problem with that.
As far as bleeding red ink, when was the last time you checked?? I am no financial whiz, but a profitable quarter or two don't make a profitable airline. Until UA establishes a trend of turning profits on a consistent basis (ala WN), I feel some posts here make me shake my head as well.
