Self-parking fees at remote locations (and resort fees, too, but don't get me started) are just sneaky ways to raise room rates without alerting people to the fact. There really should be a law against such practices. Note that nearly everyone has a car at these places. It's not like staying in Manhattan!
I have something like 1700 Marriott nights (and hundreds more at other chains), and still this sort of thing really gets me going. I should be accustomed to it by now, but I'm not. It's sneaky and outrageous.
