William,

Asking this question here is like going to a Wine Spectator exhibition and asking if anyone minded terribly tasting the bottle of Opus One you had brought along. Bread and butter, thats what it is to us, bread and butter.

Anyway, as a first stab, how about this routing:

roc-jfk, jfk-fra, fra-bom, (bom-goi-bom), bom-sin, sin-pvg, (sha-xmn-sha), pvg-nrt, nrt-akl, akl-jfk, jfk-roc

The ones in parentheses would need to be done separatel;y from the RTW as these cities (i.e. Goa and Xiamen) are not served by Star carriers. The flight distances and prices for these flights are so small it will be a very minor thing to do anyway.

The rest of the routing could see you on UA/LH to FRA, to BOM on LH, to SIN and then PVG on SQ, to NRT on NH, to AKL on NZ, back home again on NZ/UA.

Total miles: 28,676 so you can do a 29,000 Star RTW and have 324 miles to play with as well.

Anyway, it sounds like a blast, and if you find yourself in NRT with a layover, be sure to drop a note.

Best,

Mike
