Qantas Classic reward...
Originally I booked a classic reward flight on a mixture of BA and Qantas to get me back to the UK. I have flown the first two sectors (BA flight numbers on QF metal) and yesterday I looked at the reward availability for my return from the UK in September.
My return flights from LHR-SIN is on BA metal, and I checked reward availability on QF to see if there was a chance that an opening in First. Of course there was now reward availability, so I duly phoned QF asking to change the flight to the QF flight not the BA flight.
I was told that under no circumstances would I be able to change to this new flight (even though it's First Class) from BA to QF. I then asked if therefore I could use the BA flight number on the QF metal, and was told no again.
After reviewing the conditions of travel, I did see that they were right on the first point. No changes are to be made to name, class of travel or airline, but no where does it state that i can't change from BA16 to the BA7312 (same airline, although it's on QF metal)
what should one do, apart from complain to QF. I agree that in the ticket conditions it DOES say no change of airline, however I think that BA to BA should be allowed, as it's technically not a change of carrier.
Any help would be appreciated.
