I believe what is being referred to here is the Pearl TV Tower (a rather famous landmark seen in many tourist pictures of Shanghai). It unfortunately closes in the evening, but as the Grand Hyatt affords views from a higher elevation and stays open all night ( ), you could with clear weather see a great view from your room or the bar on the 88th floor.If the weather is bad or even if it is good, a walk along the river on the Pudong side will give you beautiful views of The Bund (the famous strip of old Shanghai where the Peace Hotel, HSBC's old headquarters, etc. facing the river are located).

Enjoy, and to be honest, the best thing to do is plan a second trip sometime and go see the city you miss out this time.
