Strange FA action re. bulk head seat

This was a new experience for me. I was not so much annoyed as completely clueless as to why what happened, happened.

I get an upgrade to a Y bulkhead window seat. I know well the drill about all items in the over head bin. So I put up my roller board and kept my laptop case so I can access all my junk until the door closes. The boarding door closes and the FA says loudly, "You need to put that up now so we can take off." To which my reply is to pass the bag to her except she backs away and says, "You need to put that away." Now as I said I am clueless and I try to hand it to her again were upon she replies, "YOU have to put it up here" while motioning at the overhead bin.

I got the message, she wanted me to get out of my seat and place the bag in the bin. Not that I am unable or even unwilling to do so but I still didn't quite understand because the door was shut and we on the verge of pushing back and in 15 years of flying any airline the FA always and graciously took care of small bags for the bulk head seats. So I unbuckled, 1B unbuckles and moves out of the way, and I put my bag away.

I talk for a living so please spare me the pithy remarks I should have made because I thought of them all as I pondered what just occurred. I have always believed arguing with a FA was unprofitable plus I didn't know for sure that she was not technically correct in her actions so I bit my tongue..hard. I thought I would inflict my revenge by refusing to help clean up all of my newspapers and other detritus when she inevitably asked for our trash, but she never did. We left with the cabin looking like a pigs sty. She seemed determined not to lift a finger the entire flight.

I am still not sure if she was just plain lazy or if I am ignorant of bulk head protocol. Help me decipher this please.
