Whatever you do, do not put them in your checked luggage. About four years ago, my wife and I spent a week in Hawaii. Every evening when we got back to our room we would dump the change we got that day into one of our suitcases. Probably ten to fifteen dollars in change total. None of the coins made it home. Either baggage handlers or TSA inspectors thought we were tipping them.
