Question Must pay 241 trip with voucher holder's credit card?

We're USA-based and my wife has a Chase Visa 241 voucher. I just got off the phone with a BA agent who informed me of the following:

1. Since she has the voucher, we must use one of her credit cards (not necessarily the BA Visa one) to pay the fees/taxes.
2. Even though we're in the same household account, she must be on the phone to approve the use of the voucher.

Is this correct? Neither is a big problem, but I'd rather use my own cc if possible and if I could book the trip myself I could surprise her with our London stop-off en route. (She knows we're passing through London, but not that we can stop there to see friends.)

Thanks for any help.
