I figured it would be better to put them into one account as well. The only worry I have is I already got the 50% bonus miles from transferring my Amex points to my BA account. Will I still get 50% bonus miles for transferring my wife's Amex points to MY BA account? I think on the Amex website it says that it's one bonus per cardmember, not per BA account, so I'm guessing it should be ok...
It is "hard-coded" in that there is not even a bonus but the ratio change to 1:1.50 so you can transfer as many times as you want before end of July.
If both accounts have similar level of miles before the transfer there is not much advantage gained to transfer all to one account. However if one account has not a lot of miles then it makes sense to concentrate most miles on one account and just make a smallish transfer to the much less balance account to keep it alive for another 3 years.
The household account does not allow you to redeem for persons outside the Household account. However the flip side is you only need one redemption one PNR for all persons in the household on that award trip, instead of 2 redemption 2 PNRs on 2 separate accounts - that is when both accounts have similar balances.
