Phone calls have proven to be very quick, IIRC.

If I needed to do change a designated companion, I would definitely first PM GVW (new shorthand for Gabe/Verity/Whit). I'd be very surprised if they are unable to take care of it within one business day. Just remember they don't work weekends.
