I'm sorry...what is EI? (Is that Aer Lingus? And if so, why the heck does EI stand for Aer Lingus?) I'm flying next July so lots of airlines haven't loaded their seats yet.
Aer Lingus is a pheonetic expression of the irish "Aer Loingeas" and means Air Fleet. Ireland in Ireland is in fact Eire and so the airline code for the Irish (Eire) airline is EI.
What did we ever do before google?....Learn I suppose.
