Excellent AF customer service

I had a 75 minute transfer time at CDG on AF on 7/27. The inbound flight from Istanbul was delayed on takeoff and landed 25 minutes prior to departure CDG/JFK. Fifteen minutes prior to landing the FA told me that an agent would be on the jetway at CDG to take my family to the JFK flight. We were traveling Affaires so we were lucky enough to be the first off the plane. The agent was right there with a sign and took us down a flight of stairs to a van and drove us to the terminal for the JFK flight. We were fast-tracked through security and walked to the departing gate....the entire transfer took only 10 minutes. We asked the gate agent at the JFK flight if there was any chance our bags would make it...they said no but we were happy just to have made our flight. When we landed in JFK we thought we would stick around baggage claim just in case.....and guess what, our bags were the first on the carousel. I thought that it was an amazing customer service experience by AF.....really world class. I can't imagine being treated comparably at a US airport....but perhaps I'm being cynical
Couple of questions.....is this standard for AF? Is it tied to elite status somehow?
