My tires needed replacement around 50k, the front brake pads needed replacement around 60k, and heaven help you if you need to replace a headlight bulb (either pull out the engine or find a ten year old with really small hands to help you) but everything else was just normal interval service. Have driven 85k and have yet to have something break on my Volvo - the first car I have ever been able to say that about in pothole ridden California

. YMMV.
Supposedly the new wear & tear complimentary coverage extends to brake pads and rotors and covers ALL the scheduled maintenance...so that seems like pretty good coverage to me. Would lessen my fear about purchasing a (potentially) repair-ridden vehicle.
