traveling in a bmw definitely does make it better....it doesn't justify the price increase but there is a certain level of comfort in a luxury car....comfortable seats to stretch out in, better air conditioning to escape from the insane heat, lcd screens with a dvd player to kill time when stuck in a jam, air bags & more safety for the unlikely event you get into an accident, etc....
once again, doesn't justify the price increase from $200 to $1,000 but its pretty much the same as traveling in business class as compared to economy....both will get you there in the same amount of time but business will be a lot more comfortable & enjoyable....
First of all, I find an SUV and a luxury to be incongruous.
I hate dvd players and TV's in buses. In private taxis, it means little to me.
I suppose, airbags are a big plus in India, where airbags are not standard on cars. Can you tell you are talking ti a biker.

A four wheel drive is useless too. Does it have BMW imprinted on the sides? Believe it or not, I saw many Lexus with Lexus printed in big letters on each side.

I found Innova to be quite comfortable, though a bit noisy.
I see your analogy of business class versus economy has some merit. But I never pay for business class. If you want to drive me around in a BMW when I come to India,. I promise, I would not decline.
