Seat reservation changed by airline at check-in
Here goes, first flyer talk post and probably a stupid question.....

I will be flying AF CDG to BOM tomorrow in the J class cabin. I had reserved, a good while ago, the seat 5A as it seems to be the only seat in AF Business class on its own. (At least according to the AF seat maps for the 77W)
On check-in today, I have been moved to another seat..
Is this a common occurrence? I guess I have most likely been moved to make way for a Plat member or a senior AF staff member.
I'm not really bothered, just curious to know if this is common practice?
