My experience is not exactly like yours but similar.
I had an SQ flight (booked in D) but was forced to switch to UA (D) as SQ was overbooked. Ticket was issued by SQ. SQ in SIN endorsed the ticket to UA, but told me that this was really just an extra precaution as the *RWSTAR tickets are supposed to be interchangeable without endorsement.
How your case is affected by the change in fare class from B to M, I can't say.
