Number_6: If I was doing a mileage run for miles, then that's definitely the way to go. However, I intended to use the trip to visit friends and family in USA, Canada and Israel, and tour some of Europe.

If i lived in PER i could use a RTW and fly the intercontinental roundtrip, satisfying UA's requirement.
