Concerning Budapest:
We stayed there over Whtisun (or "Pentecost" is another word for "Pfingsten"; a religious holiday on a Sunday and Monday) this year from SA-MO. Many things, especially the parliament was closed on all days. Check out their website before you are standing in front of closed doors.
