Guy, That is what I was leaning towards ... book thru to HKG, pick up the luggage at HKG, then checkin for the next day while still at the airport (Less than 24 hrs stop) and check the luggage thru to CNX at that time.

That way we know whether the luggage made it to HKG or not. And since CX interlines with PG, we will only need to clear immigration at BKK and we can then clear customs in CNX.

Thanks for the interline info and the suggestion for how far to check the luggage
