Marriott would not require the hotel to copy information (AAA card, Credit card, ect.), unless it is required by law in the country the property is located.

Thank you Marie for following up on this & reporting back.
When I experienced it I was told it was Marriott 'corporate policy'. Obviously that's not the case.
I intend to keep a copy of Marie's response if I ever run into this situation again.
