3 hour US Airways layover Charlotte CLT - enough time to venture out for quick drive
I arrive on a US Air flight at 6:15 on a Thursday morning.
My connecting flight doesnt depart until 9:15, exactly 3 hours later.
My cousin is saying that I would have time to have her pick me up (say 6:30), and take a quick drive over to look at a piece of property near her mother's house (area is over east part of Charlotte off Independence Blvd by Presbyterian Hospital)
According to Mapquest, its about 11 miles and 20 minutes.
So by my calculations, I would have time to get picked up - drive over for a quick look (20 minutes?) - then make it back to CLT around 7:45 or 8 at the latest for my 9:15 flight
Is CLT an airport where I can expect to clear back thru security at 8 (my bag would already be checked thru so I would just need to go back thru security line) to make it for boarding around 8:45 flight???
I am just not that familiar with CLT airport and its size in comparison to other metropolitan airports
