Stayed at the Park Inn in Arcachon France for a conference. Alarm went off but luckily it was only around 10PM and the weather was fine. Turned out someone was smoking in their non smoking room.

No compensation was offered or asked for but I would assume you can always ask.

if it had been 3AM I would have been a lot more upset
