I got the US Platinum and cancelled it immediately after reading the fine print. Unless your permanent residence is in the US, you are not covered by any of the insurance. The Global Entry benefit was not of much use either because I have Nexus already. The airline benefits, $200 credit, and no foreign exchange are somewhat desirable.
It will come down to if you have status on AC, if you like the E/SE/Business/First Class line benefit, and if you are going to travel with a companion for free redeeming 15000 points a year. You need to value Aeroplan points as well.
I will probably ditch my Aeroplan Platinum next year as I now have the Centurion, and it covers most of the benefits of the Aeroplan, but would continue to keep it over the US Platinum for my current needs.
