This is an interesting "bias" against non-Aeroplan members. If I were an Aeroplan member with 6 AC eupgrades I could upgrade my whole September itinerary LHR-YOW-YYZ-DEN right now, as I have a Latitude fare and KVS is showing that R space is available on each leg. I wouldn't even need to be an elite member at the moment with AC; I would only need to have 6 eupgrades in the bank. But as a *A member, I am not allowed to upgrade using the stated 25,000 miles. Heck, I could be a UA GS or 1K, and it wouldn't help to make the award available. So the bottom line is that while Air Canada has joined into the *A upgrade network, it is still heavily protecting upgrades for its Aeroplan members against invaders from other programs.
