Hi Folks,

First time on this forum. Had a question on duty free alcohol.

I'm flying from vancouver to melbourne connecting in sydney. I have the option of buying duty free in vancouver or on board Air Canada.

What i am not sure is that if i will have to collect my bags in sydney and re-check them for the melbourne flight (on Qantas). If so, i can buy duty free on board and stash it in my bags when i re-check them.

I'm guessing since Sydney would be the point of entry in Oz, i'd have to go through immigration, customs etc there. So i will have to re-check my bags again. Am i right?

Usually I wouldnt go through that much trouble but Crown Royal is very cheap duty free
