I very much like the current no weight only size limit, but really would welcome a hammering down on the second pieces being far too big.
In my opinion, a second piece is a handbag, or laptop bag, or a large coat in a carry bag, or a poster, or a bag of shopping. But not a combination of the above. Nor a roll along bag.
I was rather angry when boarding an A320 at Glasgow (completely full) to row 1 to find that there was no space for hand luggage until row 8.
Of course, Im left waiting ages trying to get back to row 8 at the end of the flight whilst people up the back get their bags from above the front rows.
This isn't helped by a few factors:
1. No priority boarding at Glasgow, so status passengers in the front row are last on as the flights are called late in the lounge
2. Boarding from the rear encouraging people to leave bags further forward than the should be
3. Crew leaving their bags above row 1
4. People putting their second pieces in the overhead locker (I don't mind this if they squeeze it directly above their big bag, but not alongside).
