I took this service in May for a long-weekend and I have to say that leaving London in the afternoon and arriving in time for night time drinks was just fab! I took my mother away and she very much enjoyed the whole experience, and I have to say IMO its much better than normal CW unless you happen to be on the UD in 64A!

LCY lounge isnt anythign to write home about, but we did get served food snacks and drinks were brought to our table. Its a nice pit-stop for a glass of bubbles pre flight!

The flight itself is great. Crew service standards were amazing, they honestly couldnt do enough for you, they pampered my mother very well which was nice, small things like just refilling the drinks and having your name on the coat hook label were nice.

The food was far better than i was expecting given CW normal standards, which I have to say when Ive had it previously has been pretty good (well better than the slop down the back in Y) but from LCY the difference is stark. Roast do a very good job at the catering, the steak was great, the chunky chips actually chip like rather than soggy as i feared and the pudding was a chocolate delight!

The pit-stop at Shannon isnt a hassle at all, apart from having to cart your luggage on and off, but with cabin bags only its not too much of a pain, and the security queue was pretty much just our plane. Quickly through and straight back onboard.

The seats are comfy and roomy, no backwards facing seats like CW, but getting in and out if you need a loo break when the seat next to you is taken isnt easy - i didnt like having to step over, its easier in CW, but its no big issue. The bed positions are really good, and a good nap is easy to achieve. Again here the crew were great, handing out bottled water, and even hanging my jumper up for me which i took off and had just popped on the arm of my seat. A nice touch.

From plane to cab in 15 minutes at JFK, and it only took that long as the taxi queue was long, we were out of the airport in probably 5 minutes. Only negative I can find about the flight is that it is a little loud in the cabin, the engine noise is noticable, i constant little whine that i dont notice on other flights. Maybe it was our seat position in row 3?

Overall thoough a great service, a great trip and my only regret (sort of) is not taking it back to LCY on the return leg of the trip, but then 64A was just as exclusive on the sleeper service. Warm cookies and hot chocolate before bed, sooooo good!
