I was in the CCR a couple of weeks ago and while the food was reasonably good, the service was pretty poor. In fact, having now used the CCR several times, I have yet to be impressed by the service.
When we arrived we went straight to the dining area. We stood waiting patiently to be seated. The more senior staff member (the bloke in the suit) walked past us several times, failing to even acknowledge our presence, in fact making a clear effort to avoid making any eye contact with us at all. I would not have objected at all if he had simply told us he would be seat us shortly, but he simply ignored us.
Finally a young waiter, who was clearly overworked, made the effort to seat us and did a good job serving us given the workload he was under.
I do think that whoever is in charge of the service in the CCR needs a sharp kick up their backside given the fact that this is supposed to be the ultimate BA experience.
