Fees are based on your status when you check in.
You can ask and see if somebody can bang a few keys and let it slip by, but I would not plan on it.
You will be a general member when you check in, so they will want you to pay.
Even on the return, if your miles have not posted yet, they will ask you to pay.
Guess I'll try that, I have nothing to lose. Miles should have posted by the time I return (I'm returning 9 days later).
