Two other cities within easy reach by train from Hannover are Hameln and Minden.

Hameln has a very pretty old town center to walk around and Minden features a over 1000 years old Dom and the famous "Wasserstrassenkreuz", where the Mittellandkanal crosses the river Weser over a bridge. You can take a boat through the lock that takes you to both waterways.
