This corresponds to Delta and Frontier pulling out of ASE, so there should be some unmet demand. However AA/AE seem to fly to a lot of small airports in Colorado.
Frontier still fly in & out of Aspen.
IIRC:
They announced they were leaving the Aspen market, partly because of a fleet rationalisation, but were unable to get out out of the lease they have on the Q400 aeroplanes.

UPDATE: February 2012.
F9 have now announced they are abandoning the DEN-ASE market for good at the end of the 2012 ski season (mid April 2012)
