Requested: Cadillac SRX or any other large size SUV (I called the special reservation number to request one)

On vacation at the Outer Banks. Called to request the SRX or any large SUV a couple weeks ago. Got to the counter and was told that I had a Town Car. The guy at the desk was either having a bad day, or just never has a good day. He said that they had nothing else for me, period.

Got in the Town Car and found that the gas tank was only at 7/8s and the contract said it was at full. Back to the counter again. I told him that it really isn't possible to only fill a car to 7/8s of a tank since i don't know how big the tank is. He says that he noted it in the file, but I am assuming that it will need to be full when I drop it off.

When leaving the facility it was disappointing to see a couple CTSs and Ford Explorers in the lot. I guess those are 'already rented'.

Heading back to ORD in 2 weeks. At least I know I will be treated better there. Sorry for the rant, but on vacation with wife and two kids we could have used more functional space.
You should get credited for "on the road expenses" and the fuel you add should be deducted from your bill at the actual price on the street (or close to it, but not their inflated "you-dont-fill-here's-our-price" rate). And if you see others you want, what I've done is to pull out your phone and try to make a ressie for your same # of days and see what it pulls up. If it shows SUVs or others, then go to the desk and again ask for what you saw. If they say it's not available, then pull out your phone and show them. This has worked 2x for me and ILM will be getting another complaint from me because "Sorry, we don't have any SUVs available" isn't acceptable when Avis.com shows mid and large SUVs available for my time frame... However, I'm done fighting with them and will just complain every time and one day they might give me what I'd like/am reasonably allowed to be upgraded to.
