Actually had a "ran in" incident that I can relate personally when I was younger. Back in 1996, when flying from SFO to ORD, a baby on board was crying because of the pressure change, but the parents were good about it and the baby went straight to sleep w/o anymore crying. However, the crying did last about 3-5 minutes and everyone was nice about it, and of course, it could of been a plesant flight, or so you think.
Just about when the baby was about to sleep, a Chinese couple 2 rows behind me in J started talking loudly in their broken Engrish/Chinese complaining about how babies should be kept in check and all that.. it was loud and rude, based on their comments in Chinese and broken Engrish..., being able to understand both, and seeing how the lady next me, and others around me were frowning and getting ready to murder, and of course, being young and impulsive, I "went off" on the couple..
"You know, just because the baby was crying, doesn't mean you have the right to talk loudly on a quiet flight like this. Look around you, whoelse complained, and listen again, the baby was sound asleep. Now look at yourself, you should be ashamed not for your broken Engrish, but your rude comments in Chinese. Just because you said it in a different country, doesn't mean there aren't people who wont understand. You two have been loud for the past 10 minutes nonstop, and the baby was sound asleep. Now do us a favor, shut up and sit down!"
Even now, I still get my adrenaline pumping when I think of that incident. Of course, after I berated them, they were murderous! But the crowd around me stuck up for me with applause and cheers. Boy, that felt good! And just to add salt to their wound, the FA loudly said "Thank you for making my job a lot easier", and personally escorted me off the plane before everyone else. (so I can run for my life I suppose).
Oh, the young days!
