Comfort Class is what TWA called coach after they pulled a couple of rows of seats out and put in drop-down foot rests for the whole cabin. It was sort of a precursor to AA's MRTC, which was another short-lived attempt to make bovine class fit for humanoids.
Revenue management hates such moves, and clearly differentiating the economy cabin isn't enough of a game-changer for the airlines.
