If the OP's status listing is accurate and up-to-date, I think that AA Gold = OW Ruby. This wouldn't be enough to get looked after on BA, hence the "if".

The difficulty with QF is not that you can't get a pre-allocated seat, but that QF pre-allocates to more PE pax than BA does to WT+ pax, and even a OW Emerald therefore often gets no choice on QF. I'm used to having my pick of the bulk of the WT+ cabin; this doesn't always happen on QF PE.

But this is no more than "a bit frustrating". Given the choice between BA WT+ and QF PE at the same price at the same flight times, I too would go for QF PE (as I said).
