How frequently do you receive alerts? Is it so much that it clutters up your email box, or only when things are really bad?
Depends what you sign up for. If you sign up for the AirTrain-only portion of the alerts, they aren't that frequent (however, right now, you can probably count at least 2 most days since there are almost-daily shutdowns at night and resumption of service in the morning and they send alerts for that).
