Red face Has anyone ever purchased an award ticket and they didn't deduct the miles!!!

I bought online an award ticket at United and they didn't deduct the miles....deductions usually happen within hours, but this time it hasn't and it's been 2 months and I'm flying out within the week, lol.
I think it happened somehow during the confirmation process. After I had made the purchase online I needed to call in and make a slight change before it was confirmed. I called and got a clueless foreigner in a call center in Asia . She said she needed to confirm this original ticket before she could make the changes. She was nervous and was following some script. I told her repeatedly that I wasn't really calling to confirm the flight, I was calling to change my flight before it got confirmed. She kept following the script like I desperately wanted it to be confirmed first, lol. I think I frustrated her when I said; "you know I didn't call you to get this confirmed, I assumed that would happen automatically, I called you to make changes....it's you who insist on confirming this first not me". She continued to follow this script like it was my first time buying an award ticket and like I was doing the reservation with her, lol.
Anyway, during this "confirmation" she asked me a weird question I thought at the time. She asked me how many miles I had in my account. I thought it was weird since she should know the answer to this I figured. I told her the number of miles in my account at the time, which was before the deduction for the award ticket.
So, now I am thinking that she couldn't see the deduction and assumed it had already taken place, which it hadn't, and so she confirmed without deducting the miles. She must have thought I was giving her the number of miles left in my account AFTER the deduction...but she was wrong.
Any thoughts about this?
