I'm geographically challenged. When traveling in the US, I rely on a portable GPS system. I have one in my car, and when I'm going to fly somewhere, I pull it from there and take it with me. I make sure to pack it in my carry-on so that as soon as I pick up the rental car, it's ready to go.
