Ever wonder what stupid complaints BA receive?

I won't say how I received a copy of this email, but I can say it's not from BA - the email was copied to the entire BA board of directors, plus a number of news outfits.

I've removed any personal identifying information:

Hi There,

My name is [name] I thought you may be interested in this story regarding our National Airline (British Airways) given the fact you are one the biggest gay publications.

We were travelling with them on our honeymoon and we were treated disgustingly, we were met by homophobic crew (Please read the below emails from me and ba).

What is disgusting is that BA is a member of The International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA). I have written to them but, I am yet to receive a response, maybe BA got to them before.

Even after speaking with [customer service rep's name] (Diversity Representative) on Friday it seems that revenue is the most important topic which comes to BA's mind.

I really want people to understand what BA is really like. My partner and I saved our money for over 2 years for our honeymoon nearly £7,000. And I ....... like an idiot...specifically wanted to fly with BA.

(One) Because my partner had never flown on a 747 plane (Honestly, we are daft)

(Two) Because I had only flown with BA for the last 6 years in order to support my heritage airline and I actually thought we would have had received the best service/experience.

(Three) I wanted to support an airline which had suffered so much bad press and bad luck over recent year with strikes, price fixing etc.

This all went terribly wrong and we feel upset and cheated not only by BA but by the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA).

Please contact me if you require any further information this is not about us anymore, its more for the Gay and Lesbian community whom decide to take BA and or trust the advice of the of The International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA).

I can't imagine the number of couples who will travel FROM THE UK TO NEW YORK to get married and I HOPE TO GOD THAT, NONE OF WHICH TRAVEL WITH BA AND RECEVIE THE SAME SERVICE!

I don't fight for gay rights admittedly, only because I don't see any difference in gay, straight or bisexual. But I do EXPECT when paying for a service everyone should be treated the same. This is not the case when flying with BA which is upsetting and very unsettling.

P.S I have CCd the Exe Team of BA, none of which has got the time or decency to respond to any of my letter or 4 emails - no wonder this airline is suffering.

Regards

and his original email

Dear Sirs,

I write regarding the below letter sent to British Airways on the 13th May 2011 which has gone unanswered. I understand British Airways is very busy but you and your company have caused my partner and I a great deal of upset and concern about how British Airways operate.

Please response to me because I would like answers why we got subjected to this. I hate to say this but I am ready to provide this information to SMH and The Daily Telegraph because I am disgusted with the behaviour of British Airways and the staff involved in this compliant.

Original letter sent on the 13th May 2011 British Airways Uk Waterside.

The Scenario: I purchased a multi-city fare from BA.com on flying from Sydney to LONDON, then flying from LO NDON to NEW YORK then NEW YORK TO LONDON.

Whilst on the plane from Sydney to London a member of your crew a gentleman approached us to say are we from porn movies very loud.. We asked why? And he replied because he saw us kissing and cuddling at our seats?!!?! He said this was very strange behaviour, I asked why and he just laughed nastily and said If gay and lesbian people are given civil rights, then everyone will want them. Throughout the flight from Sydney he would make references to us both to the rest of the passengers at the either side of us. This very much singled me and Paul out and a lot of people on the plane kept watching us. Do you recruit homophobic crew. THANK YOU FOR THAT BRITISH AIRWAYS.

This was the worst flight I have ever taken with British Airways and it made us both feel very uncomfortable. This was supposed to be a very special time for us and BRITISH AIRWAYS messed it up and made us feel like a freak show on the flight. Do British Airways not like gay people? Do British Airways find it funny to single out people?

We should have flown with Qantas and given up the chance to flight with my HERTITAGE airline. We wasted over $4000 dollars on these flights. It cost us to be mocked, felt ashamed to be a couple and labelled...

I look forward to hearing your comments.

I would ask British Airways to review these websites and apply some of this knowledge to staff training.
Now... I'm gay, and I've yet to travel on a BA longhaul flight which doesn't have at least one gay male cabin crew, and at least half a dozen female cabin crew who listen to the flight's queen holding court in the galley.

To suggest that BA are remotely homophobic is... well.... this guy is clearly trying it on.

Anyway - I thought some of the regulars would enjoy this!
