I was once at a Hilton in College Park, MD, the alarm went off and they couldn't turn it off. There was a flood somewhere in the bowels of the hotel and according to management there was no way to turn it off. I endured for about 2 hours with no apparent resolution and then decided to bail. Since my flight was early in the morning out of BWI, I drove up there about 10:00 PM and checked in.
Now I had asked the College Park hotel to reserve me a room, and to my surprise they had comped me the room at BWI and no-charged me for the College Park room.
