Sorry - not exactly sure what you mean by "opposite" - my understanding is that SQ will only assign seats in C and F not Y (on *A awards) but your experience may be different. You also cannot assign your own seats online on award tickets unless you are within the online checkin window. So you need to call.


You most certainly can only get assigned seats on paid tickets on SQ in Y if you book online on the SQ web site - a major bone of contention with SQ customers.
