The folks in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties have only themselves, or their predecessors, to blame for voting down BART. Can you imagine what it would have cost to put BART entirely around the Bay, including all 3 of the airports, if that had been done when BART was first built? Probably 1/10 or less of what is would be now - and for that reason it will probably never be done now.
