Is there any language in the UM terms that states UA will provide better re-booking options if one has purchased the UM service as opposed to not purchasing it? I never saw any when I was going over the T&C's of UM transport before I booked my daughter this past spring.
I fail to see how, at least in this specific example, the purchase of the UM service would have made any difference when the flight got canceled.
It wouldn't, only help with the hotel part, and most likely drive her nuts.
